Our history...

Thirty years ago UK early music group Milady Clare's Musicke toured much of southern England and were a regular feature at craft fairs and banquets, playing an enviable collection of medieval and renaissance musical instruments and were delighting audiences with our madrigals, dance tunes, early carols and boisterous tavern songs.

In the intervening years the band's members took their musical journeys in different directions, but in 2018 the group's musical director Ruth Holiday, together with husband Graham and the band's original founder James McCafferty, decided that the world was ready for Milady Clare's Musicke to perform once again the hit singles of the 12th to the 18th Centuries.

And in 2019 we welcomed soprano vocalist and woodwind player Lydia Vella into the fold, so then we were four!
